About Touchwood
Touchwood came into being in 1998 in response to Gloucestershire’s Local Agenda 21. It is a loose partnership of organisations and individuals who come together to address specific issues in the local landscape.
Since then The Touchwood Partnership has been addressing ways of sustaining the local woodland-landscape. Over this time a number of organisations have helped funded the work of the partnership and many other people have added their support and expertise.
The partnership is currently involved in work that:
• Encourages learning about and access to the woodland-landscape
• Promotes and demonstrates management of woodland in order to benefit wildlife, community enjoyment, understanding and economic return
•Promotes and supports the use of local wood, woodland services and woodland products
• Promotes the woodland-landscape for tourism
• Enables people to get directly involved with caring for the woodland-landscape
