Tonnes of CO2 saved

Volunteer hours

We collect scrap wood in Greater Manchester & Cheshire and stop it going to waste by upcycling it into DIY timber and unique, handmade products.

The UK generates around 5 million tonnes of wood waste every year, but less than 1% is reused. Touch Wood rescues waste timber that would otherwise be landfilled or turned into woodchip, creating jobs and training opportunities for disadvantaged local people at the same time.

We collect from construction sites, industrial estates and other commercial sources, reclaiming everything from pallets to indoor cycle tracks – you name it, we take it! Anything we can’t reuse is locally recycled, so nothing goes to waste.

“Absolutely brilliant place, really friendly staff and very helpful. Saved a fortune and always worth checking what they have in stock. Will be back again to order more timber.”

“I am delighted with the fencing panels I purchased from Touch Wood. The team were really helpful in preparing and delivering the wood to my premises. The finished product looks superb. It's great to be a part of reuse in action: good for my pocket, good for the environment - an all-round good news story!”

“Recycling wood to reduce carbon emissions and waste and they create great products, designed to your specifications. I have had a great box made to hold all my allotment stuff and a composter made from pallets.”
