We are thrilled to announce that the Social Enterprise Support Fund, distributed by Resonance, has given a £40,000 grant to Touch Wood to help the team ‘Build Back Better’ through and beyond COVID. As such, we are employing a Business Development consultant, and Mike Taylor has become part of the team already, taking up the role of Head of Development for Touch Wood.

Mike is focusing on improvements across many parts of the business including the workshop, processes, looking at external relationships from a sales development and customer journey point of view, as well as how we engage volunteers and the employability agenda.

He is also helping us to gear up to move to a better workshop and wood store/shop facility, still on New Smithfield Market, opposite EMERGE’s new HQ building currently being refurbished. The grant is also paying for an upgrade in our tools and equipment infrastructure; contributing towards our adaptation and move as well as transport, marketing and core costs.

This has been made possible thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.
